Community High's Smokestack Theatre Group recently held their annual "End of the Year Show" to commemorate the year that was in theatre arts at the school. The evening saw the induction ceremony for the school's branch of The International Thespian Society, an actor's fraternity/sorority. Ten new members were inducted, all having worked a minimum of 100 hours in the theatre. They were: Ryan Waterson, Hannah Pendergrast, Lauren Bobo, Chelsea Utz, Chloe Armstrong, Emma Grace Trigueros, Grace Neill, Emily Prince, Aubrie O'neal, and Jadon Lynch. In celebration of National Nurse's Day, Community High School HOSA recently assembled and distributed goodie baskets to the nursing departments at Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital as well the Shelbyville Central High School nurse. Kimberly Warren, executive director of Middle Tennessee Spay and Neuter Clinic, 846 Union St., said last Saturday's rabies and microchip clinic went well, despite the weather. Middle Tennessee State University recently awarded the FCM Cares' annual Andrew C. Rambo Memorial Scholarship to Murfreesboro native Katelyn (Katie) Gardner. Jenni Byford recently expressed how she was "ecstatic" to be named the 2021Thomas Magnet Teacher of the Year. Byford says she's been lucky enough to call Bedford County home for the last 11 years. She and her husband, Jeremy, enjoy spending time with their three grown children Lauren, R.J., and John Michael. While he has another busy profession, he makes time to organize events that help families needing care of loved ones suffering with Alzheimer's Disease. What better excuse for an office party/brunch than to celebrate your boss' new home closing. The Times-Gazette staff rolled out their favorite breakfast foods Monday morning (yes, we did) during a surprise housewarming for boss, Diandra Womble. Following brunch, the T-G general manager opened gifts, which ranged from a dish drying mat for her new kitchen to dog toys.
