A native of Bell Buckle, Adeline S. Adams was born March 31, 1938, to the late Roy and Maggie Stovall Stewart.

Mrs. Adams was a retiree of Bedford County General Hospital. She was a faithful servant and charter member of Southside Church of Christ where she served in many areas, but her favorite was the many years she spent teaching small children. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. No one will ever match her fried pies. Her hobby was making Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls and gifting others with her work. She was always actively involved in her children’s activities, being that mom who always made the cupcakes and cookies or volunteered her services. She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years, as well as serving as the Girl Scout Cookie Chairman for Bedford County. She and her late husband, Denny F. Adams, were walking horse enthusiasts, leading grandchildren to many blue ribbons in the show ring. They did everything together and were loyal fans of Shelbyville Eaglettes Basketball and enjoyed watching grandchildren participate in sports and various other activities.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by sisters; Ann Stewart Wilhoite, Rachel Stewart Miller, Mary Joyce Stewart Wilhoite.

Survivors include children, Mary Grace (Jan) Phillips of Shelbyville, John William (Brenda) Dye, Jr. of Mount Juliet, Cyndi (Hollis) Paschal of Halls Mill, Linda Kaye (Jeff) Gilmore of Bell Buckle, step-children Kelly (David) Bearden of Smyrna, and Kathy Stephens of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Molly (Greg) Cook, Kyle Phillips, Jamie Bowling (Sharyl McKenzie), Melissa Bowling, Mandy Dye, several great grandchildren; sisters, Sadie Stewart Ghee (Chuck Tempel), Shirley Stewart Smith, and a host of nieces and nephews.
