Aksel Carl Jensen III, age 78, of Shelbyville, Tennessee died Saturday, December 4, 2021.

Aksel was born December 24 to Aksel Jr. (Copenhagen, Denmark) and Margaret (Mansfield, Ohio) in 1942 in Sandusky, Ohio, before moving to Shelbyville at age 10 where he remained the rest of his life, graduating from Shelbyville Central High School in 1961.

Aksel was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Janet and Margaret (Peggy). He is survived by his brothers Jon and Richard (Dick).

He is loved and remembered by his children Aksel IV (Christy), Joshua, Ryan (Laura) and Liza (Josh), grandchildren Annie Grace, Zoe, Molly, Alaphair, Jack Roland, Harper, Camille, Knox, and his high school sweetheart and wife of 58 years, Norma Zae Segroves.

A lifelong active member and elder of First Presbyterian Church, Aksel is remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He loved hunting, fishing, gun collecting, and cheering on Shelbyville and Tennessee football. He loved his church and community. Most of all, he loved his family. He supported his children throughout their lives, following them to every Cub Ccout meeting, football game, dance recital, and swim meet.

The family will receive visitors Friday, December 10, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church, 600 North Brittain Street, from 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m., with a Service of Witness to the Resurrection in the sanctuary at 2:00 with Rev. Dr. Jim Moran officiating.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
