A Bedford County Health Fair will be held at Fair Haven Baptist Church, 2726 Highway 231 North, on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Amanda Lankford, Arosa of Middle Tennessee assistant area director, said over 30 vendors will be involved. Areas of health to be represented include non medical home care, home health, hospice, assisted living, long-term care facilities, insurance, Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital, Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center and the local Chamber of Commerce.
“We want to educate our community regarding their options for our seniors,” said Lankford.
Food trucks will be on site. Door prizes will be awarded.
Health events include blood pressure screenings and balance and memory tests.
According to Arosa, the fear of falling is not unfounded. A significant fall can ruin the independence of an elderly adult at home. Understanding fall prevention in the elderly and finding ways to avert risk can help you lower the chances of a fall at home.

Arosa is a premier home care provider serving the elderly population throughout middle Tennessee. The local office is located at 768 North Main St.
Founded in 1999, the company also maintains offices in Nashville and Murfreesboro.
The new Shelbyville provider has built its reputation on an integrated model—one which “elevates care” through the formation of teams of caregivers, care consultants, care managers, and care specialists—all who work together to craft and implement tailored care plans for clients and their families.
Many of these teams have served the local communities for years (if not decades) and offer invaluable knowledge to clients and families throughout life’s aging journey, the company states.
Arosa’s operations began more than 20 years ago with the founding of California’s LivHOME and North Carolina’s Nurse Care. In 2018, these merged together forming to increase the services for senior care and officially creating Arosa.
