Assault charge filed after alleged attack

A suspect was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly cutting a man Monday morning outside a Riverview Drive home.
Kerbie Haitienne Exgenor, 31, of Riverview Drive, allegedly cut the victim during an argument over a cell phone. A friend drove the victim to police headquarters.
Exgenor allegedly grabbed the phone from the victim and, moments later, cut his left arm as they fought. Witnesses told police Exgenor tried to cut another person, slashing only a pants leg.
Bond was set at $10,000.
Attack
Two men attacked another Monday night on White Street and got away, according to a police report.
The victim was found lying in the roadway behind his vehicle bleeding from a head wound. He was uncooperative with officers and refused to supply information about the attackers, police said.
A witness told police the victim arrived in the area to find two men blocking his driveway.
Thefts
A non-running motorcycle was stolen from the front porch of a home on Morton Street between 4 a.m,-noon Tuesday, Shelbyville police were told.
Also repoprted to area authorities:
•Several packages of medical supplies have been stolen since October from porches in the 1600 block of Sims Road, police were told.
The latest ones, taken Monday, were allegedly taken by two suspects named to an officer. Some items from previous thefts were found in a home where the victim and one of the other suspects had once lived, police were told.
•Approximately $10 in change was taken from an unlocked vehicle on Calhoun Street overnight Monday.
Recovery
A Chevrolet Corvette stolen in Murfreesboro was wrecked and abandoned after the driver ran off Frank Martin Road and struck another vehicle Tuesday afternoon.
An area resident told police he’d seen the red Corvette speed past his home around three hours before it was reported wrecked. The driver was described as “a light-skinned Black male with big dreadlock-type hair.”
Checkpoint

A Tennessee Highway Patrol sobriety checkpoint has been announced for 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 on State Route 437 (the Shelbyville bypass) at the 1.8 mile marker.
