Cascade High School and Bedford County School System have agreed to find a replacement for current principal Josh Young. He will finish out this school year and the system is going to be searching for his replacement, the school system has reported to the Cascade community.

Anonymous sources have told the Times-Gazette today that Bedford County School System is releasing Cascade High School Principal Josh Young from his duties at the end of the current school year.
The Times-Gazette contacted the Central Office Tuesday morning. Central office communications said this morning that Director of Schools Tammy Garrett is in a previously planned conference and a statement is forthcoming from the school system.
An anonymous source has informed the T-G that a mobile message/voicemail was sent out from Bedford County Board of Education (superintendent Tammy Garrett) to the Cascade High community on Monday night, following graduation—one in which it was stated there would be new leadership at Cascade High next school year. The new principal was not announced, but Garrett stated in the voice mail how she will be posting the new principal job this week.
Assistant principal Brad Davis and Young were said to be finishing out the school year at Cascade High. Young’s family stated on Facebook that it was such a surprise; they do not currently have a job prospect for the next school year.
One other anonymous source told the T-G this morning that it was decided by Cascade High faculty and staff that there needed to be a change in administration-one which would garner much “higher success” for the school..
Young’s family has stated on social media how they, as a family, were shocked and devastated by this news. Josh Young became Cascade principal at the beginning of the 2017-18 school year, following Tim Harwell, who served as Shelbyville Central principal, and is now Bedford County’s assistant superintendent. The Times-Gazette will continue to follow this turn of events. Bedford County Board of Education meets in regular session tonight at 5:30 p.m., at Harris Middle School.
