SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – Cascade High School is proud to announce the appointment of Douglas Worsley as the new head coach of the boys’ basketball program. With nearly three decades of teaching and coaching experience in both private and public schools, Coach Worsley brings a wealth of knowledge, passion and a competitive spirit to the Champions’ court.

Cascade High School Principal Sandy Sorrells shared their excitement about the new hire.

"Coach Worsley brings a level of experience and character that aligns perfectly with the values of Cascade High School," said Sorrells. "We are confident that he will not only lead our basketball team with excellence but also be a tremendous mentor for our student-athletes and a positive force in our school community."

Coach Worsley holds a Bachelor of Arts from Crown College and a Master of Sports Science from the United States Sports Academy. His 29 years of dedication to education and athletics reflect a lifelong commitment to developing student athletes both on and off the court.

"I am excited to be here at Cascade High School," said Coach Worsley. "I look forward to getting to know the team and this community, and I’m ready to get to work building something special together."

Coach Worsley outlined several ambitious goals for the Cascade boys’ basketball program:

✓ Continue to build on the success and rich tradition of the boys’ basketball team;
✓ Establish the stingiest defense in Class AA;
✓ Reach the TSSAA State Tournament and compete for the AA State Championship;
✓ Cultivate a program that actively gives back to the Cascade community.
A family man at heart, Coach Worsley has been married to his wife Ginny for 24 years. Together they
have two children: Amelia, 20, currently attending UT-Southern, and Roxton, 18, a senior graduating
from Central Magnet School in 2025.
Outside of coaching, Worsley enjoys running, working out, gardening and reading - hobbies that reflect
his energy, focus and drive for personal growth.
