The Cascade Lady Champions honored their only two seniors, Brianna Horn and Claire Perry, before run-ruling the visiting Grundy County Lady Yellow Jackets, 12-0, on Friday night.
Horn went four complete innings in the circle, no-hitting Grundy County while getting nine of the 12 outs by way of the strikeout and only allowing two baserunners via a pair of walks on 66 pitches. She went 0-3 at the plate, an unusual occurrence for the Lady Champs’ cleanup hitter.
Claire Perry, meanwhile, went 1-3 with a double, one RBI, two runs scored, and a strikeout. After Alivia Fannin led the third inning off with a single, she reached second base on one of Grundy County’s eight errors on the night. This set the table for Perry to bring her home with a hustle double into left field on the third pitch of the at-bat, extending the hosts lead to 7-0.
Cascade scored three runs in the first and second innings, two in the third, and then four more in the fourth inning to beat Grundy County by double-digits for the second time this season.
