On Tuesday night, Cascade honored its senior night and Cascade notched a big victory over visiting Grundy County.
Led by senior pitcher Tyler Knight, the Champs claimed a 9-2 victory over the Yellow Jackets to bounce back in the win column.
“This senior group as a whole is a special group. They have been with this coaching staff for seven years. They have been through ups, downs, injuries and all. No matter what has been thrown their way, they have always found a way to land on their feet. I hope they carry that through their lives and know they always have a home here with us,” Champion coach Josh Hammonds said.
Knight tossed a complete game, striking out 13 Yellow Jacket batters in the process.
Caden Hammonds and Ryan Inmon each connected on a pair of base hits and recorded three RBIs.
Chance Brown, Conner Melson and Kobe Inmon all had two-hit games in the Champs’ win as well.
