Thursday afternoon was a tough one for the Shelbyville Central tennis squads, with both the Eagles and the Eaglettes falling by scores of 6-1.
Ainsley Noel and Caitlyn Burdick both dropped singles matches by scores of 8-2, while Emma Habel gave the biggest singles fight at the No. 4 spot, coming up just short, 8-6.
The lone Eaglette win came with Noel and doubles partner Caitlyn Burdick claimed an 8-6 win at the No. 1 doubles seed.
On the boys’ side of the match, Justin Spence came up a little short in an 8-4 singles match at the No. 2 spot.
Hoyt Wessner recorded the only Eagles’ victory of the afternoon at the No. 5 singles seed with an 8-2 victory.
