Community High School Seeks New Football Coach for 2025-2026 Season

(Unionville, TN) Community High School, home of the Vikings, is actively seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to serve as the new head coach for the school’s football program starting in the 2025-2026 season. Principal Dr. Robert Ralston and Teacher and Coach Chris Grooms, a valued member of the school’s coaching staff, will be leading the search for the new head
coach to guide the Vikings into the next chapter of their football history.

Coach Grooms, who has been a pivotal part of the Vikings’ football program, will step down from his role as head football coach after this season but will remain a vital part of the athletic department. He will continue to coach girls' softball, bowling and track and will also assist the incoming coaching staff to ensure a smooth transition and success for the football program.

Dr. Ralston shared his thoughts on the transition, saying, "Coaching is a very taxing task. Coach Grooms has contributed so much to the program, from coaching to field maintenance and all the behind-the-scenes work that often goes unnoticed. His dedication to the success of our athletes and our school has been invaluable. While we are excited for this new opportunity for
the football program, we are equally grateful that Coach Grooms will remain involved in many aspects of our athletic offerings. We look forward to the new direction for the football team and are fortunate to have Coach Grooms’ expertise as we move forward.”

As the search for the new head coach progresses, Community High School remains committed to providing a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. Ralston said the school is looking for a coach who will not only bring strong leadership and strategic insight to the football program but also a passion for mentoring young athletes both on and off the field.

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply; details on the application process are available on the school district’s website - https://bedfordk12tn.mysmarthire.com/jobs/ - or by contacting Dr. Ralston directly at (931) 685-1418.
