Funeral services for Darlene Holman Perry, 68, will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Woodfork Chapel AME Church, 1011 Lipscomb St., Shelbyville. Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, at the church, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at noon. Service of committal and interment will be at Willow Mount Cemetery.
Mrs. Perry departed this life on Sept. 2, 2024, after an extended illness.
She was a teacher at Liberty Middle School for 35 years. She taught science and social studies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Thomas Holman Sr., and Mrs. O.B. Holman.
Survivors include her husband, Alphonso Perry; a sister, Devetta H. Sanford (Frank); a brother, Thomas E. Holman Jr. (Debbie); two nephews, Daniel Holman and Thomas E. Holman III; one “bonus daughter” Chauntelle Perry; and a host of friends and other family.
Scales Funeral Home in Murfreesboro is handling the arrangements.
