Mr. Derrick Leauntee Waggoner, age 48, of Shelbyville, left this earthly life on Monday, December 5, 2022.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Fair Haven Baptist Church with burial to follow at Willow Mount Cemetery. Pastor Randall Webster will serve as eulogist.
The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service at the church.
Derrick LeAuntee Waggoner was born April 1, 1974, in Shelbyville, to Vivian Ray Waggoner-Davidson, of Shelbyville, and the late Kenneth Calton Waggoner, Sr. He is the grandson of the late James and Zoe Simmons and James and Hazel Alexander. Derrick was a 1992 graduate of Shelbyville Central High School and a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University where he was affectionately called “D-Luv” by his close friends. He taught high school in the Rutherford County School System and then Bedford County. He was employed at General Mills in Murfreesboro and was a member of Woodfork A.M.E. Church in Shelbyville.
Derrick leaves behind to cherish his loving memory: his mother, Vivian (John) Davidson; a daughter, Jasmyne Owens; three brothers, Reggie (Erica) Waggoner, of Murfreesboro, Brian (Jessica) Waggoner, of Lynchburg, and Kenneth (Katherine) Waggoner, Jr., of Manchester; three special nephews, Jayden, Braxton, and Jaxton; other nieces and nephews, Justin, DeAria, and Breana, all of Manchester; two aunts, Cecelia (James) Randolph, of Detroit, Michigan, and Dr. Phyllis (Ronald) Washington, of Murfreesboro; special cousins, Lacedra, James Randolph II, and Cedasha; two special friends, Larry Hickey “Big Bullet” and Craig Scott; and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.

Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
