Devern Cowan White Ward, lovingly known as Granny White, age 93, of Shelbyville, TN, passed away on December 22, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Lincoln County, TN on October 20, 1927 to the late Woody and Myrtle Robinson Cowan. She was a homemaker and a member of the Brown Teal Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years: Bill White; husband of 18 years: Brad Ward; sisters: Ola B. White, Dolly Agnes, Virginia Williams, Roberta Travis and Dean Carpenter; and brother: Arrie Cowan.
Mrs. Ward is survived by her daughters: Pearly (Kenneth) Cooper, Debbie (David) Morgan, Audrey (Junior) Seibers and Tammy (Bossie) Seibers all of Shelbyville; son: Lavory (Kathie) White of Shelbyville; sister: Birdie Lee Sharp of Petersburg; grandchildren: John Leslie, Virginia Dennis, Phillip White, Billy Moore, Anthony Seibers, David Seibers, Tim Morgan and Angela Gordon; great grandchildren: Zach Gordon, Lavory Wayne White; Tyler White, Lexi Morgan, Walken White, Rachael Dennis, Mary Grace Dennis, Faith Dennis, Hope Dennis, Brittney Silva, Hunter Morgan, Toshia Pitts, Tyler Seibers, Michael Seibers, Savannah Seibers and Austin Seibers; thirteen great-great grandchildren; and her caregivers: Tamra Whitley, Valerie Sanders and Diane Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Moore and Pastor Eddie Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Moore Cemetery.
