An allegedly intoxicated driver was arrested after allegedly having a child in his SUV while almost hitting three vehicles Saturday night on Highway 64 West.
A Bedford County deputy found Rony Say, 47, parked on Highway 130 West. Say allegedly said he’d had “a little bit” to drink and failed field sobriety tests.
He was charged with reckless endangerment, DUI, open container and refusal to voluntarily provide a blood sample. He was held on $8,500 bond.
Say’s 8-year-old son was picked up by a family member.
Resisting arrest
A disruptive customer struggled with officers attempting to remove him from Tipsy Tavern, Sims Road, Sunday night, a police report said.
William Matthew Dalton, 38, of Davis Lane was charged with resisting arrest and public intoxication. He was held on $6,000 bond.
Assault
A man accused of refusing to give a friend her phone out of fear she’d call 911 during a fight was arrested early Friday by police.
Bobby Scott Jr., 55, allegedly refused to hand over the phone while hitting her in the face, busting her lip, and attempting to choke her. He was charged with aggravated assault and interference with 911 and released on $5,500 bond.

•Christopher Keith Deweese, 56, King Arthur Court; burglary, theft of property under $1,000, possession of drug paraphernalia; held, $16,500 bond
•Andy Eliel Dubon Cordova, 40, Gulfport, Mississippi; no driver’s license, speeding; released, $250 bond
•Atray Alexander Fryman, 23, Tulip Tree Road; driving on suspended license, no insurance, running stop sign, speeding; released on recognizance
•Peyton Nicholas Garrett, 24, Cherokee Lane; failure to appear (two counts); held, $6,000 bond
