HARTSVILLE — Shelbyville Central's Golden Eagle football team closed out the preseason with a scrimmage on the road against Class 2A powerhouse Trousdale County on Friday night.
The Eagles claimed varsity scrimmage wins at Rockville and at home against Page as well this preseason.
Shelbyville Central opens the season on Thursday night at home in a non-region matchup with Tullahoma, Kickoff is a 7.
At Trousdale County, the Eagles put up 26 points while allowing none.
The varsity scored twice, the first on a 43-yard pass to Gavin Donegan from Kade Cunningham with Cunningham scoring the second touchdown on a 41-yard keeper.
The Junior Varsity-Freshman added a pair of touchdowns as well with Raydon Creenshaw rushing for 15 yards followed by an eight-yard run by Rocky Chandler .
"Trousdale is known state-wide to play good football. I knew it would be a great test for us," Shelbyville Central coach Josh Puckett said.
"To go in there and get a shutout win was a good feeling. We obviously have a few things to clean up but the effort was great. Now it's time for the real thing."
