Eagles lock down first win

Shelbyville Central’s Golden Eagles claimed their first win of the season with a 60-50 victory over visiting Summertown on Friday night.

The Eagles led 16-7 at the end of the first quarter, posted a 29-24 advantage at the intermission before Summer town battled back to take a 41-40 lead after three periods.

Jai’lain Anderson scored 10 of his game-high 21 points and the Eagles cashed in on 10-of-13 shots from the charity stripe as Shelbyville Central outscored Summertown 20-9 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Jayshon Jones added 17 points while Erman Garcia added 10 for the winners.

Gevin Burleson’s 14 tallies led Summertown.

The Eagles host Lincoln County tonight at 7:30 in the opening game of the District 8-AAA schedule.
