MURFREESBORO - Shelbyville Central's Golden Eagle soccer teams closed out the season with a 5-0 loss at Oakland in the semifinals of the Region 4-AAA tournament at Oakland High School on Tuesday night.
"We really came out without any desire to fight for the ball. Credit goes to Oakland though, they are the smartest and cleanest soccer team we have played all year, Shelbyville Central coach Chris Fritz said. "The high level travel soccer they play in the offseason definitely gives them a leg up. They also executed a game plan, which has been a sticking point for us this season."
Coach Fritz has nothing but praise for this outgoing senior class.
"Nonetheless, these seniors will be missed by our team and we thank them for the time they poured into our program."
