Shelbyville Central tied host Columbia Central 2-2 Thursday night in a District 8-AAA contest.
"This was a game that didn't change the standings but our guys opened the season with this team at home and felt like we didn't put on the performance we should have," Shelbyville Central coach Chris Fritz said.
"I am really proud of the heart and fight that these boys have even on incredibly tired legs. This has been one of the hardest stretches for us, as we've had to play some of the best AAA teams in the state with no rest or recovery."
Ryan Tacuba scored his first varsity goal off of a long range free kick that had a little misdirection involved.
Cristian Ramos scored the second goal for the Eagles.
Shelbyville Central (6-5-3, 4-2-2) travels to Marshall County on Monday night at 7.
