Backed by a strong outing by pitcher Hannah Burks, the Shelbyville Central bats hammered the Tullahoma Lady Wildcats for 16 hits in a 10-0 five-inning blowout on Wednesday.

Three different Eaglettes went 3-for-3 on the night, with three more recording at least two hits.

Kate McKamey, Burks and Alyviah Smith each hammered out three hits, while Sarah Margaret Housch, Kaydence Rippy and Evie Winfrey connected for two each.

Shelbyville plated a single run in the first and second frames while doubling its lead in the third frame with two more runs.

It was a six-run fourth frame that set up the 10-run mercy rule that allowed Shelbyville to coast to the win.

Burks, Rippy and Smith each drove in two runs in the win.

Burks earned the win in the pitcher's circle and recorded four strikeouts while allowing just three base hits.
