WINCHESTER — Timely hits and a quality pitching performance led the way as Shelbyville Central's Golden Eaglettes claimed a 2-1 victory over Franklin County in an elimination game of the District 6 4-A Softball Tournament on Monday evening.
Lilly Brown hit a solo home run for the Eaglettes while Jaleigha Harris had a clutch RBI double to account for both runs.
Shelbyville Central sophomore Sammie Brown was in total n the circle, allowing one run in a one-hit effort while fanning five batters while walking four in seven innings of work.
Kaydence Rippy and Alyvia Smith each added a single for the winners.
Carissa Montgomery's triple was the lone hit for Franklin County.
The Eaglettes play at Coffee County on Tuesday night.
