Eight-run inning boosts Tigers against Champs

LEWISBURG - Marshall County drove in eight runs in the third inning against Cascade on Thursday night, which proved to be more than the Champions could overcome.

The Tigers held on for the 14-4 non-district victory.

Cascade struck the first blow in the top of the first inning when Logan McDonald scored on an error, but Marshall County answered the early Champion strike and plated two in the bottom of the frame.

Cascade went on to score one run in the second and third innings and led 3-2 heading to the bottom of the third.

But the Tigers proved advantageous and plated eight runs on four hits and three hit batters.

Cascade connected on four hits and were led by Ryan Inmon's third-inning triple.

Adam Reeves, Cade Whitson and Chance Brown connected for singles in the loss.

Cascade split pitching duties between five pitchers, with Walker Craig getting the lion's share of time on the mound.

He went two innings and struck out one, while allowing six hits.

Cascade continued its run in the Viking Classic on Friday evening.
