Mother Elizabeth Nelson Robinson, age 100, of Shelbyville, departed this earthly life on Thursday, March 17, 2022, peacefully at home.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2022, at Sevier Street First Baptist Church. Pastor R.C. Verge will be eulogist, with burial to follow in Cook Cemetery in Lewisburg. Visitation will begin at noon.

Mrs. Elizabeth Nelson Robinson was born October 23, 1921, in Halifax County, Virginia to the late Cornelia Thompson. She later relocated to Shelbyville, Tennessee where she lived out the remaining years. After losing her mother early in her childhood, she began working at the young age of 12 years old. She then devoted her life to family and the community. She would work tirelessly day and night to provide for her loved ones. She lived a God-fearing life and was a faithful member of Sevier Street First Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Robinson; daughters, Mary Lee Brown, Elleanor Deloris Jenkins, and Catherine Adams, sons, Roy Chester Robinson, Danny Robinson, and Michael Robinson; one sister, Willie Mae Stokes; two brothers, Joseph Thompson and Elijah Thompson; two granddaughters, Delisa Foster, Diane Adams; two grandsons, Wayne Adams and Glen Adams; two great-granddaughter, Lanita Foster and Nakeyisha Davis Muse.

She is survived by her son, Clifford (Thuong) Robinson; daughter-in-law, Renita Robinson; sister, Mary Trible Barksdale; grandchildren, Letitia (Barry) Davis, James Bouvier Brown, Rhonda Fulton, Tracie (James) Hart, Roland Robinson, Victor Woods, Elizabeth “Tadasha” (Mario) Hunt, Topeka Acosta, Ephriam Robinson, Zoddy Searcy, Hanh Tieu, Hue Wen, Huyen Wen, Jaden Robinson, Taneisha Robinson, Michael Robinson Jr., Mario (Kayla) Robinson, Sandy Tillman, and Valerie Adams; 36 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; 4 great-great-great grandchildren; devoted friends Connie Moss and Belinda Talley; and a host of nieces and nephews.
