Enjoy fall, y’all: The Ratleys' mountain trip

Shelbyville residents know all too well, particularly right now during the pandemic, that sometimes life necessitates a road trip to the mountains. That’s what Dianne and Victor Ratley of Shelbyville decided to do last weekend; they witnessed the beginnings of fall colors within about 100 miles from Bedford County.

“A peaceful ride sometimes helps clear your head,” Dianne said. “It was a perfect day to be out enjoying this beautiful fall weather.”

Accompanying them on their day trip, following a visit with a loved one, was Dianne’s father, Joe Cartwright. During their drive, the family took in views from places like Altamont, McMinnville, Cowan and Jasper.

One of Dianne’s Facebook followers joked recently that she’s planning to hide in the back seat and tag along on their next trip. We thank the family for sharing their road trip with T-G readers.
