Franklin Co. rallies past Eaglettes

WINCHESTER — It was a tough loss on the road as Shelbyville Central's Golden Eaglettes fell 58-54 to Franklin County on Friday evening in a District 6 4-A contest.

After posting a 17-13 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Eaglettes trailed 28-23 at halftime and 43-34 going into the fourth quarter.

Katie Walker pitched in a game-high 23 points for Franklin County while Madison King collected 11.

Shelbyville Central was led by Paige Blackburn's 20 points with Lilly Brown adding 16 markers.

The Eaglettes (10-7, 0-2) return to district action at Coffee County on Tuesday evening at 6.

Shelbyville Central: Jaleigha Harris 8, Paige Blackburn 20, Lilly Brown 16, Sammie Brown 7, Lanaya Young 3.
