Gail D. Parsons, age 84, of Shelbyville, passed from this life early Saturday morning, February 27, 2021, at The Heart Remembers after an extended illness.
Born February 20, 1937, in Atlanta, GA to the late Garvin J. and Annie Yearty Daniel and is preceded in death by: loving husband of 56 years, Fayne Holt Parsons, Jr.; brother, Garvin J. Daniel; sister, Mary Ann Ratliff; grandson, Landry Holt Galbreth; and brother-in-law, Jerry Ratliff.
Gail graduated class of 1955 from Shades Valley High School and attended the University of Alabama. She retired from Eaton Corp after 25 years of employment. She was a member of the Town and Country Garden Club, and a longtime faithful member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her flower garden, watching birds (bluebirds and hummingbirds), and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include: children, Pam (Joe) Galbreth; Fayne (Kasey) Parsons and Tim Parsons of Shelbyville; brother, Anthony M. (Norma) Daniel of Birmingham, AL; sister, Rilla Daniel of Knoxville; Grandchildren, Addison Galbreth, Holt Parsons, David Parsons, Anna Parsons, and Timothy Parsons; sister-in-law, Catheryn Daniels of Birmingham, AL.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby McGee officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to funeral service starting at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Family requests that masks be worn and social distancing guidelines be followed.
