SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. –The Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles (10-0, 4-0) and Eaglettes (9-1, 4-0) both took care of business against District 8-AA foe, the Franklin County Rebels, on Friday.

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. –The Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles (10-0, 4-0) and Eaglettes (9-1, 4-0) both took care of business against District 8-AA foe, the Franklin County Rebels, on Friday.
The Eaglettes swept the Rebelettes, 7-0, while the boys had to dig a little deeper to remain unbeaten, 5-2.
In all, the Eaglettes only dropped three points in total, including none in the doubles matches. The duo of Lilly Smith and Sophie Ray took down Allie Glenn and Alex Wiley, 8-0, while Addie Berry and Abby Thaxton also blanked Sophia Green and Abbey McClain, 8-0, in the second doubles match.
On Court One, Lilly Smith took care of Allie Glenn, 8-1, while on Court Two, Addie Berry shut out Alex Wiley, 8-0. On Court Three, Sophie Ray blanked Abbey McClain, 8-0, and on Court Four, Abby Thaxton took down Sophia Green, 8-1. Kelsey Shatley also shut out Brynlee Buchanan, 8-0, to pick up the ninth win of the season for the Eaglettes.
For the Golden Eagles, the doubles points were a battle. Henry Stone and Daniel Hernandez took care of Avi and Meer Patel relatively easily, 8-2, but Justin Spence and Ian Johnson had to survive William Orr and Krish Patel, 8-5, to sweep the doubles points.
In the singles’ matches, Henry Stone made quick work of Ari Patel on Court One, 8-1, while Justin Spence held off Krish Patel on Court Two, 8-3. On Court Three, Tanner Johnson fought valiantly in a close loss to William Orr, 8-6, while on Court Four, Daniel Hernandez suffered the same fate against Meer Patel, 8-6. Carter Watson took care of business with a shutout against Logan Boyd, 8-0 on Court Five while on Court Six, Jay Kus survived Levi Karl, 8-4, to secure the 5-2 team win and move to 10-0 overall.
