The Shelbyville Central Golden Eaglettes held their Senior Day celebrations on Sunday before their non-district matchup with Tullahoma.
Sammie Brown, Kiya Akil, Lilly Brown, and NeVeah Buchanan were all recognized for their four-year commitment to Shelbyville Central Softball, with three of those seasons coming under head coach Shaun Whitaker, prior to the first pitch.
Although the Golden Eaglettes lost 16-0 to fall to 5-17 on the year overall, the most important part of their season begins at Columbia Central on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in the first round of the District 9-AAAA Tournament with their slate wiped clean.
If they are able to win that game, the Golden Eaglettes would advance into the winner’s bracket to play at Coffee County on Friday at 6:00 p.m. If they lose to Columbia, Shelbyville would fall to the loser’s bracket and would play Monday at 6:00 p.m. against the loser of Lincoln County’s first game against the winner of Warren County and Spring Hill.
