*** Hagerty will support religious freedom
To the Editor:
Across the country, everywhere you look, our religious freedoms are under attack from the radical left and their socialist agenda. In Tennessee, the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit last November against the Smith County School System for a student-led prayer at a Veterans Day assembly and their "prayer and period of silence" in school.
That's right. The ACLU is suing our Tennessee schools for allowing prayer in our classrooms and at school events.
Bill Hagerty knows this attack on our religious freedoms is reprehensible and cannot be tolerated. He was raised with Christian conservative values and instilled those values on his four children. Bill, who is endorsed by President Trump, is running for the United States Senate in Tennessee to protect our religious freedoms.
The radical socialists who control the Democrat Party are becoming more and more out of touch with each day that passes -- impeaching a duly elected president, pushing for late-term abortion and even infanticide, and now attempting to remove the right to prayer from our schools.
I am grateful that we have President Trump and Bill Hagerty, who are not afraid to fight back against these radical ideas. Bill is a patriot, who puts America first. I am ready to stand by his side to fight for our religious freedoms and Tennessee values, such as supporting life.
As a Christian conservative, Bill will continue to work closely with President Trump to fight for our unborn children. They both know that Tennesseans value the sanctity of life and that we don't want any taxpayer funding to be used for abortions - which the extreme left will do if they get their way. Bill has said all along that he will work to defund Planned Parenthood. Bill Hagerty along with President Trump, who was the first president to attend the Right to Life March Rally in D.C., will stand shoulder to shoulder with Marsha Blackburn to be a voice for the voiceless. That is one of the many reasons why I am proud to support Bill Hagerty for Senate.
As our next Senator, Bill will continue to stand with President Trump against radical liberals who seek to restrict our opportunities to speak about our faith and important values. President Trump and Bill Hagerty will faithfully stand for our Tennessee values and I proudly stand and support them.
