Hampshire rallies past Cascade with big 4th

HAMPSHIRE — After erasing a six-point first-half deficit, the Cascade Lady Champions held a 34-29 lead over Hampshire by the end of third quarter on Tuesday.
But a 28-point rallying effort by the Lady Hawks saw the hosts escape with a 57-49 win over the Lady Champs. 
Cascade built a slim, 11-10 lead by the end of the first quarter, but saw the hosts answer with a 17-10 second-quarter run for a six-point halftime lead.
It was a 13-2 effort in the third quarter that allowed Cascade to build the five-point lead after 24 minutes of play. 
In the decisive fourth, it was Hampshire who was able to work its way to the free throw line, which proved to be the deciding factor in the game.
The Lady Hawks combined for 16-of-23 attempts in the fourth quarter alone.
For the game, Hampshire cashed in on 23-of-34 tries, contrasted to Cascade’s 7-of-12 night at the charity stripe.
Hampshire’s Kadence Stoner and Kortney Rowland combined for 42 points, 19 of which came in the fourth quarter.
Cascade relied on the efforts of a pair of seniors who reached double figures as well
Lani Jones led the Lady Champs with 17 points, including five made treys, while Lamb added 14 and a 3-pointer as well. 
Cascade will be back in action on Thursday night, hosting Cannon County in the home opener at 6 p.m.
