Harold “Pete” Blackburn, age 91, of Unionville, passed away at Life Care Center of Tullahoma on October 17, 2024.
Harold was born on September 29, 1933, to the late I.V. and Euless Blackburn of Poplins Crossroads (Unionville). Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth Smith Blackburn, and his siblings Zelma Lee (Eiland) Grissom and Marlin (Marie) Blackburn.
He was an electrician by trade. He often said that his older brother, Marlin, got him his start as an electrician. Marlin told him to work hard and ‘don’t embarrass me.’ And he did just that. He worked hard for his family until he retired and then he enjoyed spending the days mowing, piddling in his shop, and then spending the evenings watching sports with the love of his life. Over the past two years, every time you visit he would say, “I sure do miss MeMaw.” He does not have to miss her anymore. He is home.
He is survived by daughter, Beth (Jeff) Faulk; son, David Blackburn; grandchildren, Morgan Blackburn, Devin Faulk, Zak (Taylor) Faulk, Luke (Kimme) Faulk, and Kaleb Blackburn; great grandchildren, Laken & Jaxon Faulk, Braxton, Scarlett, Brooks, Alayna (Proctor) Faulk and Henley Blackburn.
Graveside Services were held 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Valley Cemetery with Brother Jeff Faulk officiating. Visitation was held prior to graveside services on Sunday, October 20th, from 1p.m. until 3p.m. at Doak-Howell Funeral Home.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Pleasant Valley Cemetery by mail: 110 Hopkins Bridge Rd. Unionville, TN 37180.
Doak-Howell Funeral Home is serving the family.
