Henry Holt Hix, 85, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, March 16, 2022.
Private family graveside services will be held Saturday, March 19th, at Rosebank Cemetery in Flat Creek, Jim Pruitt officiating.
He was a native of Bedford County; former heavy equipment mechanic for Tillett Brothers and Cooper Steel; a member of Raus Church of Christ and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and the most generous person you ever met.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Runa D. and Mattie Ree Holt Hix, and a sister, Betty Dell Merritt.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Rodney) Schmiede, Sheila (Donnie) Higgins, Angela (Charles) Travis; his brother, Dan (Brenda) Hix; his companion and caregiver, Susie Boyce; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and his loving dog, "Sasha".
Hillcrest Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
