James Edward Gordon, 92, of Wartrace, died November 19, 2024. Funeral Services were held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 23rd at Hillcrest Funeral Home Don Gallagher and Chris Bobo officiating. Burial followed at Willow Mount Cemetery. Visitation began at 11:00 A.M.
He was born May 11, 1932, in Bedford County; a retired machinist for Arnold Engineering Development Center and a member of Wartrace Church of Christ. He was a loving, caring and dedicated husband, father, grandfather affectionately known as PaPa. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Ida Belle McNeese Gordon; his children, Robert Allen Gordon (Dinah) of Mt. Dora, Fla., Elizabeth Ann Floyd (Jeff), Billy Mark Gordon of Wartrace; a brother, Bobby Larry Gordon of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Andrea Greanias (Steve), James Curtis Gordon (Autumn), Kate Montana Gordon, Elijah Taylor Gordon, Samuel Wade Gordon, Jeffrey Blake Floyd (Kelsey), Brandon Taylor Floyd and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob Taylor Gordon and Ethel Marie Williams Gordon; a son, James Edward Gordon Jr.; daughter-in-law, Gail Pauline Gordon; brothers and sisters, Gerald Gordon, Gladys Marie Blackburn, Ben Taylor Gordon, Carolyn Ann Peoples, Mary Ellen Brown and Patricia Lee Clanton.
