Janie Virginia Pressgrove Jones, age 91, of Shelbyville, passed from this life Friday, March 25, 2022, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital after an extended illness.
Born December 31, 1930, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Carson Pressgrove and Mamie Pauline Scales Pressgrove. She was preceded in death by beloved husband of 65 years, Wallace Hobert Jones.
Virginia graduated from Community High School in 1949. She worked for Stahl Urban for 20 years and retired from Shelbyville Pencil Co. in 1996 after 15 years. She was a faithful member of Fairlane Church of Christ.
She is survived by children Charles (Joyce) Jones and Jane Martin, both of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Sandy (Blake) Watts, Susan Martin, Brad (Lauren) Martin, and Brittany (Kye) Finch; step-grandchildren, Amy (Matt) Goerisch and Chris (Amber) Statum; great-grandchildren, Lucas (Julie) Jones, Zach Bowlin, Brady Martin, Slaiden Martin, and Max Martin; step great-grandchildren, Jax, Annie, and Tyler Goerisch, Emelia Statum, Kinley and Brantley Watts; great-great-grandson, Carson Riley Jones; and step-great-great-granddaughter, Aubriella Woods.
Graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 28 at Pressgrove Cemetery with Ron Adcock officiating along with grandson Brad Martin and great-grandson Zach Bowlin speaking.
