Jerry Morrell Peoples, 70, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Wheel Cemetery with Pastor Ray Armstrong officiating. The family request that masks be worn and social distancing guidelines be followed. Doak-Howell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jerry Morrell Peoples, 70, of Shelbyville, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morrell and Voile Peoples.
Jerry worked as a truck driver and mechanic. In his youth he enjoyed working on old cars, trucks, and drag racing with his brothers and friends. He enjoyed life and made others around him laugh with his quick wit and humor. In later years he enjoyed camping trips with his family and special pup "Peedee".
Left to mourn his loss and celebrate his life are: loving wife of 51 years, Martha McKamey Peoples; three children, Kimberly Street, Jerry, Jr. (Cathy)g, and Joshua Peoples; five grandchildren, Lauren Pegg, Jon Quick, Lindsey, Cody, and Carley Peoples, six great grandchildren, Gage Souviney, Abigail McBride, Bentley Smith, Warren Pegg, Dylan Peoples, and Abel Smith; Brothers, Ray and Justin (Cathy) Peoples; sisters, LuAnn Pilkington, Linda (Allen) Pope, Faye Claxton all of Shlebyville, and Joyce Hiott of Texas, also numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry will always be remembered for his strength, special wit and kindness toward his family, friends and strangers. He will forever be in our hearts and truly missed.
