Jimmy L. “Jim” Hutson, age 56, of Spring Hill, passed from this life on Monday, September 2, 2024, at NHC-Maury County Regional Transitional Care Center surrounded by his loved ones.
Born in Hartselle, AL, on April 17, 1968, Jim was the son of the late Jimmy Dallas Hutson and Barbara Ballentine Hutson.
He moved to Nashville in 1988 and held a variety of jobs until he found his true calling as an entertainer coach driver. Jim’s quick wit, exceptional driving skills and ability to work with many types of personalities made him a favorite of such artists as Little Big Town, the Doobie Brothers, Boz Scaggs, and Lee Ann Womack - just to name a few. He especially enjoyed the opportunity this gave him to travel and experience the U.S. and Canada in a unique and adventurous way. Although complications with his health caused him to retire early, he was always quick to tell a fun “behind the scenes” story from his days on the road.
Jim is survived by his five children: Brittni Nicole Bagsby of Spring Hill, Seth Thomas Hutson of Nolensville, Michael Hunter Hutson (wife, Ginger) of Chapel Hill, Alexis Marie Pigg (husband, Cody) of Chapel Hill, and Hailey Kaitlan Skates of LaVergne. He is also survived by his two sisters: Valerie Denise Jones (husband, Eddie) of Danville, AL, and Sue Ann Hemphill (husband, Joey) of Nashville, TN.
In addition to being a loving father and brother, one of his greatest joys was being “Papaw” to his 10 grandchildren: Tynleigh Lancaster, Timber, Forest, and River Bagsby; Raeliegh, Lela, and Michael Pigg; Willow Carter; Olive Jarman and Zoey Skates.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
Doak-Howell Funeral Home is serving the family.
