A memorial service for John David Kelley, 61, of Shelbyville, will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2023, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Brother Jimmy Gray officiating. Mr. Kelley passed from this life Tuesday, February 1, 2023, at Ascension St. Thomas Hospital.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
John David was born October 24, 1961 in Shelbyville, was raised by his late grandparents, William Henry and Annie Mae Arnold. Along with his grandparents he was preceded in death by his brother, Russell Kelley.
He was a graduate of Shelbyville Central High School and served his country in the U.S. Army. He had an extensive career in security as a government contractor with his brother, William; together they traveled and worked all over the world. In his free time, he enjoyed coin collecting, fishing, metal detecting and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include siblings, Mike (Janice) Kelley of Flat Creek, William Kelley of Smyrna and Ann Marie (Larry) Morton of Shelbyville; along with several nieces and nephews.
