Kathleen "Kate" Walters, age 74, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, October 16th, at her home with her loving husband by her side.
Born to Russel Eberle and Dorothy Holzhauser-Eberle on August 20th, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, Kathleen grew up at Mooseheart, “The Child City” in Aurora, Illinois, graduating in the class of 1968.
Kathleen “Kate” married James Richard “Fritz” Walters, a graduate of Mooseheart class of 1965, on May 3rd, 1969. Married 55 years, Kate was a devoted wife and mother of two children, Robert Walters and Jimaleen Walters-Davis.
Kate is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren; Julia and Olivia Howell, Benjamin Walters, and sister, Judy Eberle, as well as several nieces and nephews.
People who knew Kate knew a kind and quick-witted woman. Her easy smile, sense of humor, contagious laugh, and loving nature made many lifelong friends and friendly acquaintances anywhere she frequented.
According to her wishes, Kate will be cremated and no public services will be held.
