Mr. Kenneth Ray “Ken” Neill II, 55, of the Longview community went to be with Jesus on Sunday, March 6, 2022.  
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, with Rev. Jonathan Osterhaus officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Westbrooks Cemetery in Rutherford County. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Saturday.
Ken was born in Bedford County and was a former Emergency Medical Technician. He presently was employed with Franklin Stone as a driver. Mr. Neill was a veteran of the United States Army and served during Operation Desert Storm. He was a Civil War enthusiast and was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Ken was also a published writer of science fiction books. He was a supporter of Tennessee Right to Life.
Ken was a beloved son, brother and uncle and is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Joan Neill; sister, Melissa Broiles, brothers, Todd (Karen) Neill, Mark (Ashley) Neill, all of Longview;  nieces, Tori (Trey) Barnes, Grace Neill, Sara Brook Neill, Emma Neill; nephews, Tyler (Mercedes) Broiles, Cason Neill, Trace Broiles; great-nieces, Holland Barnes and Ada Barnes.
Trey Barnes, Tyler Broiles, Cason Neill, Trace Broiles, Steve Mallard, Scott Cranford, Charlie Morgan and Wayne Butts will serve as pallbearers.
