It was an offensive scoring frenzy on Thursday night between the Cascade Lady Champions and visiting Huntland Lady Hornets.

Despite hammering out nine hits, Huntland wouldn't be denied in a 26-12 romp over Cascade.

Huntland jumped on Cascade early and drove in nine runs in the top of the first frame, seemingly taking complete control of the game.

Cascade answered with two in the bottom of the first, only to have the Lady Hornets add two more in the top of the second frame.

Trailing 11-2, Cascade answered the bell and drove in 10 runs in the most explosive inning at the plate of the season.

During the monster inning, Cascade drew three walks and connected on six hits, including doubles by Cenzie McAnally and Vera Bilbro.

But even though Cascade had rallied to a 12-11 lead by the end of the second, the Lady Champs got no further run support, while Huntland on the other hand added two more in the third, then closed out the game with a seven-spot in the fifth and six more in the top of the seventh.

In total, Huntland accounted for an eye-popping 21 hits, which included a pair of home runs and four extra base hits.

In addition to McAnally and Bilbro's two-hit nights, Caitlin Fannin also recorded a pair of base hits.

Cascade will be on the road next week with a trio of road games, beginning Monday night at Central Magnet.

First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m.
