EAGLEVILLE - A night after hammering out 20 hits in their first victory of the season, offense became tough to come by in a 6-2 loss at Eagleville on Tuesday night.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to the 3-0 lead by the end of the second inning and scored a single run in the final three innings.
Cascade meanwhile struggled to find the offense and didn't have a hit until Lani Jones tripled with one out in the sixth inning.
Prior to Jones' hit, Cascade had managed just a pair of base runners through the first six innings.
Vera Bilbro drew a leadoff walk in the second inning and Claire Perry reached via error in the fifth.
Cascade managed a late-game rally in the seventh when Bailey Olive safely reached via error with one out.
She later scored on a RBI double by Claire Perry.
Perry also scored on a RBI double by Brianna Horn later in the inning.
Even with the seventh-inning rally, Cascade didn't have enough in the tank to finish the comeback bid.
Horn got the start in the pitcher's circle and went the distance for Cascade.
Although Eagleville connected for 13 hits, she struck out four batters.
Cascade will be back in action this weekend in the Coffee County Classic.
