It wasn't the Homecoming the Golden Eagles had hoped for.
Shelbyville Central fell 41-7 to Lebanon in a Region 3 6A matchup on Friday night.
The Eagles (0-6, 0-2 )started with a bang when sophomore running back Rocky Chandler raced 64 yards to the end zone on the second play of the game.
That 7-0 lead was short lived as the Blue Devils scored the next 41 points to claim the victory.
"I thought we scouted them (Lebanon) up well and saw what they wanted to do on defense/ I think we really surprised them with that play and it was just one of our basic inside runs. Thankfully Rocky out ran everybody and scored," Shelbyville Central coach Jud Dryden said.
It was all Lebanon from that points as senior quarterback Jaylen Abston threw three touchdown passes from that point as the Blue Devils racked up 436 yards of total yards.
Shelbyville Central senior quarterback Jake Preston connected on 9-of-19 for 98 yards.
"Lebanon's athletes just took over the game," Dryden said. "We did give up some big plays but what i love about our guys is when they make mistakes we come back and try to fix it and make adjustments. That's great for our future but it's hard right now."
The Eagles travel to Hendersonville on Friday night for a non region contest at 7.
