Mrs. Lena Burks Gibbs, age 75, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021, at her home under the loving care and comfort of her family and Willow Brook Hospice.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Pastor Bryan Nerren will officiate, with burial to follow in Willow Mount Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors 11 AM until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born February 25, 1946, in Bedford County, to the late Lincoln and Hannah Cawthron Burks. She was legal secretary for the late Jack Dearing, Attorney at Law. She loved Jesus, her husband Bobby, and her entire family. She attended the Pentecostal Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Gilliland and her husband Don, and a grandchild, Joseph Bishop.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Bobby Gibbs, of Shelbyville; daughter, Eva Lenise Gibbs, of Shelbyville; a brother, Jimmy Burks, and his wife Faye, of Tullahoma; sisters Judie McGee and her husband, Jackie and Jeanette Noggle, and her husband Ronnie, all of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Christian Bishop, and his wife Jarylin and Daniel Burgess; step-grandchildren, Leann Bomar, and her husband Cody, Jay Henley, and Xander Walker; great-grandchildren, Riley Bishop, Remi Bishop, Clay Burgess, Emmy Burgess, Sadie Burgess, Ally Bomar, Marley Bomar, and Macy Bomar.
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
