An alleged attempt to run a vehicle off the road Friday night, Jan. 14, led to the arrest of a Bedford County man on assault and reckless endangerment charges.  

Mason West Warner, 21, of Temple Ford Lane was charged with aggravated assault and two counts of reckless endangerment by Shelbyville police.  

Warner posted $42,500 bond.  

A Shelbyville woman called 911 from her vehicle saying Warner was attempting to run her off the road.  

A Bedford County deputy talked to the driver on West Lane Street as Shelbyville police stopped Warner on Lane Parkway.  

She told a deputy Warner called her to his home to hand over a personal item, then as she arrived outside the residence begged her not to leave.  

She said she drove away out of fear as he briefly went into the home, and he chased her from Temple Ford Lane to West Lane where she stopped after their vehicles hit.  

“He came over to my window and told me to get out of the car,” she told a deputy. “I told him no and that’s when he grabbed me and was attempting to pull me out.”  

The woman had marks on her face, neck, chest and wrist, according to the report. A woman riding with the victim backed her statements.  

Warner said only that they were headed to a restaurant, the deputy said. 

An order of protection was filed against Warner after the alleged Jan. 14 incident.  

Warner was charged with violating that order Monday.  

The Friday victim told police he allegedly entered a restaurant where she works but did not attempt any contact.
