Funeral services will be 12 noon Friday, June 17, 2022, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Pastor R.C. Verge will be eulogist, with burial to follow in Willow Mount Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m.

She was born August 3, 1932, in Wartrace (Union Ridge), the only child of Archie and Era Lee Cleveland Buchanan. Her primary education was at Union Ridge in a one-room school. She attended high school at Bedford County Training School in Shelbyville. She was baptized and united with Union Ridge Church of God in Christ at the early age of 15. In her mature years, she united with Sevier Street First Baptist, where she served in finance for several years. She would always fill in at whatever capacity she was asked.

She retired from Fly Manufacturing and was an active member of the Widows Club. She was well known for her chow-chow pickle, and on Thursday afternoons in the spring and summer, she would be found at the local Farmer’s Market. She lived a blessed, full life.

She will be remembered by a sister, Virginia Christmon; niece, Wanda Christmon; nephew, Walter Christmon, Jr.; favorite cousins, Mary Williams, of Shelbyville, Ethel Cleveland Medereas, of Nashville, and Katie Peterson Allen, Boston, Massachusetts; namesake, Elizabeth McMahon Angus, of Jackson; special friends: Anthony Buchanan, Arthur Trollinger (Cousin), Dorothy Newsom (Phone Buddy), Martha Shaphard (Shopping Partner), Ronald and Cora Bowman (Porch Sitting Neighbors), Joyce Harmon, of Atlanta, Dorothy Buckingham, Lizzie Reynolds, Delores Johnson, and Peggy White.

Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
