Methamphetamine was allegedly found on a man initially suspected of shoplifting Wednesday at Dollar General Market, North Main Street.

Donald Wayne Nowlin allegedly had three packs of oragel in his pockets when searched by Shelbyville officers Russ Grubbs and Derek Wessels.

A further pre-arrest search revealed a matchbox containing 1.0 grams of meth and .3 grams of marijuana, Wessels’ report said.

  • A man stopped for speeding Wednesday night on South Cannon Boulevard had approximately 8 grams of marijuana in his car, police said.

Jacob Patch was cited after Officer Sam Campbell smelled marijuana in the vehicle. the report said.

Five baby goats have gone missing from a farm in the 2500 block of Unionville-Deason Road over the past two weeks, a Bedford County Sheriff’s Office report said.

The victim had waited two weeks to report the missing goats because of the possibility of predators, but said there was no evidence left behind and now thinks they were stolen.
