Crystal methamphetamine was found on one of four people police said were “squatting” Wednesday in a vacant home on Archery Lane.
Douglas Cody Tomlin-Hunter, 31, whose residence is listed in the Bedford County Jail intake as the disputed address, was charged with possession of a schedule 2 drug and held on $5,000 bond.
The rental home’s owner, James Farrar, told Officer Ramon Castillo the home had been vacant for two months. Tomlin-Hunter said he and the others had been paying $200 per month “rent” to the previous tenant and had been staying in the home, Castillo’s report said. But Tomlin-Hunter was unable to name two other people who had run away when Farrar entered.
Three bags containing approximately 7 grams of methamphetamine were allegedly found as Castillo patted down Tomlin-Hunter after finding a knife in his clothing.
Kathryn D. Harden, who remained with Tomlin-Hunter, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia due to nearness to a methamphetamine pipe.
