It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Micheal “Mike” Lowe McClanahan, a beloved husband, dad, papa, and friend, who left us on January 10, 2025, at the age of 60. Born January 25, 1964, in Shelbyville, TN, Mike fought a courageous battle with cancer, showing strength, resilience, and an unwavering love for life, until the very end.
Funeral services were 11 AM Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel, Reverend Jeff Faulk officiated. Burial followed at Hopper Cemetery. Visitation was 3 PM to 7 PM Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.
Mike was a dedicated husband to Venessa, with whom they shared 31 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised a family and created countless cherished memories, with a special place in Mike’s heart, reserved for his grandkids, who brought immense joy to his life.
A passionate supporter of the Tennessee Titans, Mike enjoyed every minute spent cheering on the team. Whether it was watching football games, golfing, or working in his yard, Mike lived with enthusiasm and purpose. Family and friends knew him as a loyal and hard worker, as he dedicated almost 40 years to his job at Marelli (Calsonic).
While cancer may have taken Mike from us too soon, it will never take away the incredible spirit that defined him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him – through the lessons he taught, the laughter shared, the love he gave so freely, and his amazing sense of humor. Mike will forever be remembered as a fighter, loving soul, and a cherished part of all our lives.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Betty and Rod Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Venessa, and children, Michael Logan McClanahan, Shelley (Kevin) Lovvorn, and Brittney (Chris) Self; grandchildren, Stratton and Landon Lovvorn, Jaxson and Sadie Rose Self, Izzy, Ben, and LettiMae McClanahan, all of Shelbyville, TN; father and stepmother, Carl and Pam McClanahan, of Shelbyville, TN; sister, Amy (Steven) Molder of Shelbyville, TN; and brothers, Mark McClanahan of California, Chris (Tammy) Tucker, of Shelbyville and Charles (Melissa) Tucker, of Virginia. Mike is also survived by his loving nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
