After falling behind Westwood 21-7 at the end of the first quarter on Monday night, Cascade Middle put forth a valiant second-half rally in which the Champs outscored the Rockets 28-16, but in the end, fell 52-41.
Westwood's Jayden Carter and Blake Cummings combined for 17 points in the opening frame.
After mustering up just six points in the second quarter, the Champs rebounded for 12 points in the third, including a three-pointer by Grayson Anderson.
Cascade's best quarter, however, came in the fourth when the Champs scrapped out a 16-2 run against the Rockets.
Blaine Little scored six of his total eight points in the frame to lead Cascade in the quarter.
Even with the late-game surge, Westwood was able to hold on for the 11-point victory.
Cash VanBuskirk led Cascade with nine points, while Little added eight.
