LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Blue Raiders opened their final road trip of the regular season with a high-stakes game against Liberty.
Middle Tennessee got off to a slow start in the first quarter, struggling on both ends of the floor. Anastasiia Boldyreva was the lone bright spot, scoring four of the Blue Raiders' eight points in the opening period.
Courtney Blakely provided a spark with a steal and a layup to trim Liberty's lead slightly, but MTSU still trailed 30-14 at halftime.
Liberty's offense remained red-hot coming out of the break, opening the third quarter with a big run. The Flames put up 19 points in the period while holding the Blue Raiders to just six. Liberty closed out the game strong, securing a 61-42 victory.
Boldyreva led MTSU in scoring with 16 points, six rebounds and five blocks. Blakely contributed 11 points, two rebounds and five assists.
By the Numbers
40.7 – Liberty shot 22-of-54 from the field, making several contested shots.
40 – Blakely logged 40 minutes against Liberty, marking the second time this season she has reached that milestone.
